I wanted to make a turkey hand print craft with Mallory for Thanksgiving, but she just couldn't open her little hands up yet. I made quite a mess trying to get paint into her closed fist! Let's just say I gave up before it turned into a complete disaster. A few weeks have passed and I thought hmm...it might be time to try again. This time I thought a Christmas moose would be cute. We use to make these with the kindergarten kids. A bit of an age difference, but you never know till you try. All you need is paper, paint (washable of course), a foot and both hands. It took us most of the morning but we finally got it done. Of course Mallory wasn't too happy with me by the time we finished! I have to say it turned out pretty cute. I used stamps dipped in paint for Mallory's name and date. For the finishing touches I added some holiday tape (you can pick some up at Michaels or I'm sure any other craft store has it in stock) as a border.

Back with a new addition
Okay, so I've been MIA for ummm...several months. A lot has happened in the past little bit..I'll save you all the sordid details - just listen to Taylor Swift's song: Should Have Said No and that will pretty much sum it up. Sometimes life gives you lemons...yeah..yeah...make lemonade. On a brighter and much much happier note I am now a mother! Mallory was born September 28th and she is definitely the sugar in my lemonade. Check her out. It doesn't get much sweeter!

She's About To Pop! Baby Shower
Last weekend my mother, sister, and cousin hosted a baby shower for me. The theme was "She's about to pop!" They really outdid themselves. It was super cute and everyone had a great time! Take a look...
Look up! Too cute, right? My sister made this banner out of paper plates.
Flowers from my parent's garden and there's my baby. She's about 18 weeks old in that picture.
Cake pops are delicious! One is never enough.
Popcorn anyone? This was a hit with the kids.
Almost too pretty to eat
Snap, crackle, pop!
Aren't these beautiful. Here's a tip. Take your own vase to the florist that way all your money is going towards the flowers not another vase you'll have to store.
Diaper Cake anyone? I love the little lamb on top.
Don't forget a Smores pop. No camp fire required.
Another sweet but healthy option.
Refreshments!
What a spread!
Don't forget your party favor...

Clay Pots
What could be cuter then mini clay pots that spell out B-A-B-Y? Not much....SO, I went to Walmart yesterday and picked up four small clay pots (only 85 cents each). Since the colors for Mallory's nursery are green and pink, I thought I would paint them to match. I already had the paint and stamps so I got busy. I painted two of the pots green and the other two pink. Once they were dry I use large stamps dipped in white paint to spell out B-A-B-Y. I added the polka dots to liven up the pots, but they needed something more. I really like the baby birth statistics wall art so why not put some of the birth statistics around the rims of the pots. On the first one I stamped out Mallory's full name. On the next one I stamped out - born on ______. The third pot says - weighs ____lbs, and the last one reads - ______ inches. Of course I will have to go back after Mallory is born to add in all the details. I think they turned out pretty cute. Not sure if I will use them somewhere in her room or maybe put them on the front steps after she is here. Time will tell...

Ribbon-tied Wall Letters
Time is flying by and the baby will be here before we know it. Needless to say, I REALLY have to get started on the nursery. I took a little shopping trip to AC Moore the other day. I can spend hours in there just wandering up and down the aisles looking at all the different crafting supplies. I had been thinking about buying wall letters to spell out the baby's name - Mallory. Truth be told, I just wanted to find one very large M to hang above the crib, but XL letters are hard to come by...I found the small/medium wall letters for $3.99 each (and the current special was an additional 30% off). Not bad at all considering what they are going for on some of the internet sites. I decided to buy the 7 letters to spell Mallory. I had seen a large S wrapped in different colored ribbons on the figandruby blog. So, I'm thinking I can do that. I'll just tie ribbons around all the letters. As I began to work I realized this was going to take a lot of time and might not acheive exactly what I was looking for. New bright idea - tie ribbons around parts of the letters. Here's what I came up with.
